Tickled Pink Birthday preview!!

It's time for the party to start over at Tickled Pink Stamps!! Tickled Pink Stamps is one year old and to celebrate we're having a month of fab releases (it is already October in Australia LOL) - just wait until you see what Kellie has got in store for you!! We're kicking the party off today with a digi release from Heather Rolin - Tickled Pink Birthday set. Check me out, I've gone and got all technical (me and computers just don't gel LOL). After reading Debbie P's fab merging digi images tutorial (thanks hun) several times LOL I have merged several of the set's images together to create this little birthday scene! Now I want all my stamps to be digi so I can merge them LOL - so much neater than masking (well, my masking anyway).
All of these images are in the set and are all actually separate. The three different cupcakes, party hat and pressie (which I've resized for big and small gifts). I have coloured them with copics and added some glossy accents to the cherry (which annoyingly isn't showing well in the photo) and some liquid pearls to the choc chips on the spotty cupcake.
I originally went for a clean and simple style card with just the ribbon and image to let the image do the talking but it just didn't look like I'd made it LOL so I kept going back and adding flowers, first there was one, then one more and you get the picture LOL I just like fussy I think LOL!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! The set will be released at Tickled Pink Stamps tomorrow so don't forget to grab yours! x

Create 4 fun challenge

It's been a while since I joined in the Create 4 fun challenge so I thought I'd use their gorgeous sketch for this card I made for the Hobby House. The gorgeous papers are by Dream Street Papers and I've inked the edges with Weathered Wood distress ink.
I have coloured the gorgeous Sugar Nellie image with copics.

The flower I made myself from the papers using Tim Holtz tattered florals die and EK success retro flower punch. The pearl centre is from The Hobby House as is the butterfly charm. The leaves are a Woodware punch and I have used MS daisy edge punch on one of the panels. The ribbon is from The Hobby House too.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - final preview!

This is my last preview of the Whiff of Joy release which goes on sale tomorrow!! I have used the sketch at the Sweet Stop for my card and the papers are from the new Winter Pretties paper pad also from Whiff of Joy.
I have coloured the image "A-moosing Christmas" LOL with copics. Don't think the birds are actually supposed to be robins actually as they have a bit of a crest on their heads but you can't have Christmas without robins can you (well not in the UK anyway LOL) so I coloured them as such!
The paper behind the image is from the Winter Pretties pad but was originally a marbled pattern. I wanted to show you it after I customised it using some Whiff of Joy snowflakes from last year's collection and lots of different sentiments from the Christmas Sentiments that will be released tomorrow. I used fired brick, bundled sage, peeled paint, weathered wood and frayed burlap distress inks to stamp them. Quite pleased with how it turned out!
I added some ribbon from my stash together with some Prima poinsettias. The cute button is from The Hobby House, it comes as plain wood but I coloured it with a copic marker. The jute string is from my stash and the jingle bell I recycled from the children's chocolate easter bunnies when they weren't looking LOL - knew they'd come in handy!!

Hope you've been "A-moosed" by my card LOL and thanks for looking! Don't forget all the new releases will be on sale from tomorrow at Whiff of Joy! x

Whiff of Joy DT - City Girl sentiments preview!

I have something different to show you today as part of my previews for the upcoming Whiff of Joy release!! An amazing set of sentiments created especially for the City Girls images - and they're fab!! There are some brilliant sentiments and a gorgeous frame that, like the Christmas set, has a die cut available to match the shape perfectly!! I also love the cute accessories that are in the set - so girly - there is lipstick, nailvarnish, hairspray - allsorts!! I have used the gorgeous sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces challenge for my card but I've turned it on its' side - hope that's OK!! I've used the scrummy pink papers from Tim Holtz vintage shabby paper pad, distressed with victorian velvet distress ink. I've used the lipstick, hairspray etc images on the paper panel behind Willow with the punched edge.

I have coloured Willow with copics and added some stickles to her bracelets.

The handbag charm is from The Hobby House, as is the brad, although that was pale yellow so I coloured it pink with a copic LOL! I have punched the edge with Martha Stewart daisy edge punch.
The gorgeous flower is from Wild Orchid crafts, sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. The sentiment and stamped frame around it are in the kit - this sentiment in particular is going to come in soooo handy for all those late birthday cards!! The shape was then cut with the new die cut shape that will be released on Friday!
I added some lace from my stash and of course some girly pink gems in a swirl.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Don't forget you can get your hands on all the Whiff of Joy goodies I've been showing this week on Friday 1st October - not long now! x

Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT - Photo Inspiration

This week at Simon Says Stamp we have a photo inspiration challenge for you. Now I must admit I'm not usually too good at these but this photo really inspired me...especially when my gorgeous new Tilda in the Rain landed in my letterbox!! I already had a rough idea how I wanted to use her before she arrived and my idea linked perfectly with the challenge - yay!! As always our lovely boss Heidi is sponsoring the challenge and you could win a $25 gift certificate to spend in the Simon Says Stamp store!!! I am entering my card into the Stamp Something challenge too as their challenge is autumn somethings too!
I have used papers from the Basic Grey Indian Summer paper pad - perfect for Autumn - and I've distressed the edges with Tim Holtz paper distressing tool.

I have coloured Tilda with copics and added stickles to the rain drops, lace on her skirt, umbrella and the ground.

The gorgeous swirls and leaves were cut with the Magnolia Doo Hickey swirl and leaf dies and I added some flowers from my stash in autumn colours. I'm not sure who makes the pins as they were part of a candy I won last year :).

The individual autumn leaves are a Hero Arts stamp. I can't find the exact set I have in the Simon Says Stamp store but here is one similar. I stamped with three different distress inks directly onto some of the mustard coloured paper from Basic Grey before cutting them out. I've curled them for extra definition on the card and added them with silicone glue. I stamped them with tea dye, frayed burlap and walnut stain distress inks. I have used Martha Stewart double loops punch along the top edge of one of my layers too.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Simon Says Stamp this week. The rest of the team have created some gorgeous inspiration too, why not pop and have a look! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - another preview!

I'm back to cute today for another preview of Whiff of Joy's new images to be released on 1st October. I have used papers from last year's Magnolia Christmas papers and distressed the edges with a distressing tool before adding stickles.

How cute is this little seal pup with all wrapped up against the cold!?!? I have coloured the image with copics and the piece of ice he's lying on is actually covered in glossy accents and looks fabulous in real life but could I get it to show on a photo? ermm that will be a no - it was raining - AGAIN LOL!
I added a flurry of snowflakes in the form of spellbinder die cuts from glittered cardstock, snowflake charms, buttons and pearls. The sentiment nestled amongst the snowflakes is from Whiff of Joy and the die cut is Whiff of Joy's new fancy shape die which coordinates perfectly with the swirl frame around the sentiment, which is rather clever me thinks!!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - a traditional preview

I have another preview to show you today from the new Whiff of Joy collection which will be released on Friday 1st October!! This time a more traditional image. After a lot of searching on the internet for Canadian birds (as I know that Alison Acton the designer is Canadian so it was a sure bet the bird must be popular in Canada) I discovered that it looked most like a blue jay and was then able to copy the beautiful colours of this bird. It is such a vivid blue in all the photos I've seen, I'd love to see one! I have followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday for my card and the papers are from MME Christmas stack distressed with walnut stain distress ink.

I have coloured the image with copics and added some white glitter to the snowflake on the bauble. The sentiment is also from Whiff of Joy - a set of lots of wonderful Christmas sentiments together with a fancy swirl frame to go around them, and the set comes ready mounted in a CD case for storage too!
I have kept the embellishments stylish and simple as I wanted the image and papers to be the focus of my card. I added a red bow using ribbon from The Hobby House and some red pearls, also from The Hobby House.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - another preview!

Thank you all for your help with my sewing machine question, you're all so lovely to offer your suggestions! My workshop went well yesterday, thank goodness. I can't believe how fast the day went and we had a brilliant time.
Today I have another preview from Whiff of Joy's latest collection which will be released on 1st October. I've used the sketch from Friday Sketchers for my card. The papers are a mix of MME So Sophie collection and some scraps from a paper I had last christmas which I don't have the make of unfortunately.
Isn't this little polar bear cute?!? I've coloured the image with copics and added a touch of stickles to the snow flakes and snow on the ground. This image is so great for getting through those Christmas cards as there isn't a great deal of colouring to be done and your ready to go!!
I added some lace together with a satin ribbon and bow from my stash and a selection of flowers and twigs and a large snowflake. The snowflake is a create a flake 1 die and the twigs were punched with Martha Stewart branch punch. The large rose is from The Hobby House glittered with stickles for a winter look. The small roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the acetate flowers with the pearls were a bargain buy I've had for an age!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! I'll have another preview for you tomorrow! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Flowers and Lace!

It is time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under and this week our theme is "flowers and lace". I really love my card for this challenge, I've wanted this Tilda and the Eiffel Tower ever since I started blogging but always seemed to have something else to buy but I finally got them for my birthday - yay!!!

My card is a free standing pop up card. You can find the tutorial for this here. The papers are from Magnolia, distressed with walnut stain distress ink.
I coloured the images with copics and added a touch of stickles to the lacey bits on the Eiffel Tower (sure I didn't see any lace when I went up there - must have been too busy clinging to the railings to notice LOL). The butterflies were punched with MS Monarch Butterfly punch.

The gorgeous white aida flower is by Prima from Simon Says Stamp and the rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaves are a Woodware punch.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The rest of my teamies have made some stunning creations for you as always. Pop over and have a look! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Preview time!!!

It's time for myself and the rest of the Whiff of Joy DT to show you previews of the new stamps that will be released on the 1st October!! You will be blown away by all the gorgeous things we have to show you!! My first preview features, papers, dies, image AND sentiments from Whiff of Joy!!! I have used a gorgeous minty green snowflake paper from the new Winter Pretties paper pad, distressed with walnut stain distress ink and stickles. These papers are lovely and think, perfect if you like to distress them!!!

How cute is this image??? I've coloured the little penguins and their sledge with copics and actually mounted them on the inside of the card. I have then placed an acetate panel on the front of the card onto which I stamped snowflakes from last year's Whiff of Joy winter kit using white stazon so that the penguins are sledging through the snowstorm!

Onto the next really exciting bit about this upcoming release.....dies with matching stamps for your sentiments!!! The Let it Snow sentiment comes in a kit with lots of Christmas sentiments together with the scroll shape that I have stamped around it. This is a separate stamp so that you can use it with all the sentiments in the kit AND there is a die cut available separately that follows the lines of the stamped scrollwork!!! How cool is that!?!?! I stamped with bundled sage distress ink and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink.

My snowflakes were created with Create a Flake 1 dies from Spellbinders, cut in cardstock and acetate which I've covered with diamond dust. The pearls, charm, and spacers are all from The Hobby House except the largest pearl which was a birthday gift from Lols!! (thanks so much hun :)) The lace is from my stash.

Inside the card I have mounted the image onto more snowflakes, cut in half, to create a snowflake frame around it.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! I will have another preview for you tomorrow and my Magnolia Down Under Challenge card later this evening - hope you can pop back and enjoy your weekend. I'm doing my first ever workshop teaching distress ink colouring so hopefully it will go well!! x

Just Magnolia Challenge DT - Dawny's sketch

Friday already!! The weeks are just flying by round here!! This week at Just Magnolia we have another of Dawny's scrummy sketches to play with!! I have used paper from Basic Grey's Indian Summer pad and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz paper distressing tool and stickles.

I finally managed to get at least one of the new Magnolia stamps I ordered. I'm getting fed up of pre ordering them and getting them later than anyone else seems to! I'm sooo tempted to order them again from somewhere else and sell the others when they arrive! I thought it meant you got them first when you preordered! Anyway, I've coloured her with copics and added some stickles to the lace on her dress. I do love the little freckles across the nose area that Tilda is now sporting don't you!?!? soooo cute!

I created the red flower with Magnolia Doo Hicky peony dies and the large pearl brad is from The Hobby House. The blossoms are from Wild Orchid crafts and the leaves are also a Magnolia die. The ticket is, of course, Tim Holtz and I've stapled it to the image. The pearls in each corner are also from The Hobby House.

The lacey border is a Doo Hickey too and I added a knotted ribbon from my stash and a cute little heart charm.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia! The rest of the team have made some amazing cards for you so pop over and have a look! Thanks for looking! x
